KSV eSports Has Officially Rebranded as Gen.G eSports

KSV eSports has been a prominent figure in the esports scene. They currently own Seoul Dynasty in the Overwatch League, 2017 League World Champions, Samsung Galaxy, and a top placing PUBG team. Going forward, the prestigious organization has rebranded, and it will henceforth be known as Gen.G eSports.

This rebranding comes as a surprise to some, but Kevin Chou, the CEO of the newly branded Gen.G, has his mind ahead of the game. The title reflects the organization’s elevated focus on establishing a new gold standard of excellence in global esports, gaming lifestyle, and culture for a new generation. “Gen.G fully represents our vision to set the gold standard for the global esports industry,” says Kevin Chou in a press release. “We are bridging the gap between east and west, ushering in a new generation of esports entertainment for teams and spectators around the world through unrivaled fan engagement, premier athlete development, and strategic business partnerships.”

To commemorate the rebranding, Gen.G eSports have also announced their move into both mobile and China esports by signing a team that is to compete in Supercell’s Clash Royale League. The new Gen.G Clash Royale team is based in Shanghai, and is currently ranked first place in the China Clash Royale League. “Gen.G’s experience working in China and with mobile games give us invaluable insight to the mobile esports market as we welcome team G.O to our organization in Supercell’s Clash Royale League,” says Kent Wakeford, COO of Gen.G. “Our highly-experienced executive team has a proven track record of success, providing unparalleled insights into best practices for our franchises that allow us to provide world class amenities and support for fans, athletes and brands.”

The signing of the Shanghai Clash Royale team also marks Gen.G as one of the first organizations to operate in three of the biggest regional esports markets: South Korea, the United States, and China. With such boisterous moves towards improving player stability and organizational growth, Gen.G eSports is well on its way to establishing its ideal Gold Standard for competitive gaming as a whole.
