Konami Confirms Silent Hill F For PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, And PC In Their Latest Update

Konami along with developer Neobards Entertainment revealed new details to the latest entry in their long standing horror series Silent Hill. This news came in the form of a broadcast known as the Silent Hill Transmission. Viewers were treated to a brand new trailer for Silent Hill f as well as insights into the new title directly from its leaders in development. Silent Hill f is set to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Sources at Gematsu confirm a release date has not been revealed.

Publisher Konami and Neobards Entertainment have emphasized the focal point in this Silent Hill’s Narrative is to ‘find the beauty in terror’; Set in a serene 1960’s Japan town known as Ebisugaoka, you will assume the role of an ordinary teenage girl Shimizu Hinako who must navigate the sudden fog and fight to survive. Series mainstays are present here, you’ll be solving puzzles and fighting strange grotesque creatures.

In the Gematsu report Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka shared thoughts on the development team’s goal with the game’s setting “Although this is set in Japan, we focused on portraying it in a way that is based solely on the conception of Silent Hill. While incorporating plenty of Japan’s unique identity, we sublimated it as fiction and expressed this unique culture as entertainment. By doing so, we believe we were able to blend the charm of Japan in a new way into the unique worldview of Silent Hill. We hope that through this game, you will enjoy the look and feel of what makes this title truly Silent Hill.”

The developers on Silent Hill f have confessed that setting the title in Japan is like a reset for the series, which had felt like it was slipping from their grasp. With Silent Hill f looking as impressive as it does, it may have been the right call and it will be interesting to see the series in this brand new locale.
