Konami Announces That an Update on the Silent Hill Franchise Will be Revealed This Wednesday

It’s the moment that Silent Hill fans have been waiting for. Konami has officially launched a Silent Hill website that has only the title name of the franchise and a date that is marked for later this week, Wednesday, October 19. The Silent Hill Twitter account followed this up with a tweet teasing that an update on the franchise will be revealed that day during that they’re calling The Silent Hill Transmission, which is set to go live at 2:00 PM PDT.

Unfortunately, Konami has not further elaborated on what we can expect for this update. Regardless of that, this has the Silent Hill fanbase stirred up for the first time in long time. For the past few years, we’ve seen hints from the developer in terms of seeing a return to their famous horror franchise. The most recent of these is the leaked images of the Silent Hill 2 remake, which has not been confirmed by Konami in any form or capacity.

Perhaps the most possible outcome of this update will come from the recently rumored Silent Hill: The Short Message being rated in South Korea by The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea. As with the incoming update, we don’t have any concrete information for this title, but for the moment, it seems like all of the stars are aligning for the Silent Hill fan base. Thankfully we won’t have to wait long to find out what Konami has in store for us.

It’s also important to note that Konami hasn’t been seriously active in the industry since they began to focus on pachinko machines in their native Japan. The most recent video game activity they’ve been engaged in is with NFTs for Castlevania’s 35th Anniversary. In other words, it’s going to be very interesting to see how this plays out. The Silent Hill Transmission will go live this Wednesday, October 19, at 2:00 PM PDT on the official website.
