King of Fighters XIV has gone live for preorder in the U.S. Playstation store. The digital preorder bundle for King of Fighters XIV will include: Classic Kyo Costume, Nightmare Geese Costume, and Neo Esaka Theme. The Classic Kyo costume was previously announced with the addition of the Nightmare Geese costume being the latest Atlus announced addition to the digital preorder bundle. This is of course not as nice as the premium art book that comes with the Japanese pre order bundle, but it is a nice little incentive to preorder the game none the less. The trailer for the Classic Kyo costume can be viewed below.
A trailer was also released showing off the Nightmare Geese skin in action. The trailer also shows off a bit more of the way the combat will look in this 3D King of Fighters game. Throughout the past few months, Atlus has been giving little glimpses at this new King of Fighters game, releasing various team trailers before finally announcing the North American and European launch dates. Based on all of these trailers it seems like King of Fighters is going to do well in making its transition over to 3D graphics. It seems that while the display for the game is changing in this way, the same spirit of the classic 3 on 3 team based combat is going to stay. The newly updated graphics also seem to offer more life and vibrancy to diverse and worldly cast of characters the King of Fighters franchise has been known for cultivating over the years. The trailer for the Nightmare Geese costume can be viewed below.
King of Fighters XIV will be released August 23rd in North America and will be available exclusively on the PlayStation 4. Japan and Europe will be getting King of Fighters XIV August 25th and August 26th respectively.
