Killing Floor: Incursion Gets a May Release Date for PSVR

Killing Floor: Incursion released for the Vive and Oculus Rift last year, and now the game is being brought to the PlayStation 4. On May 1, 2018, Incursion releases for PSVR, and developer Tripwire Interactive recently shared details of a special bonus level for PlayStation players.

John Gibson, the President of Tripwire, wrote about this new “Crucible” level on the PlayStation blog. “The map contrasts sharply with the realistic style of the rest of the levels in the game with it’s Tron-style virtual sci-fi aesthetic,” he wrote. “The Crucible started out as our development arena for trying out gameplay ideas in the Holdout game mode. When playing it though, we found the map was so fun that we made the decision to fully flesh it out and add it in for PS VR players to enjoy.”

The post also offered details of the game’s story, which is the first complete story arc within the Killing Floor universe. “In Killing Floor: Incursion the player is a Horzine security forces soldier that has been wounded in combat against the zeds. You are placed in a neurological simulation to keep your brain stable while Horzine medics can repair your body. Emma Rose, a Horzine training officer, is your only link with the outside world, and is trying to guide you safely through the simulation.”

Glenn Carreau: Hi! I'm Glenn: recent college grad specializing in interactive arts and media, writer, game creator and connoisseur, pop culture junkie, and semi-professional fan-artist and blogger. In my free time, I function as an unnecessarily specific gaming encyclopedia. I also play the violin, binge crime/detective procedural shows (still not sure why), and do a large amount of digital painting. I'm probably too attached to Dragon Age, but not really inclined to do anything about it. I'm a huge fan of cosplay, foxes, the prose of Jenny Lawson, and Strong Female Characters™.
