Ken’s made his official debut from Street Fighter to Fatal Fury and he’s looking just as homeless in City of the Wolves as he does in Street Fighter 6.
It is an interesting point that time has progressed both in the Street Fighter and Fatal Fury worlds (though considering this is a mutual crossover with Ken and Chun-Li going to City of the Wolves and Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui already in Street Fighter 6, you might consider the games part of one world at this point). Terry is now a single father of an adopted rebellious youth and Ken’s a homeless construction worker labeled as a terrorist. No doubt that backstory plays a part in Ken’s role in City of the Wolves, as he seems a lot less fiery in terms of personality.
In terms of gameplay, however, this is the Ken we all know and love/hate. He’s got all his staples from Street Fighter: Shoryuken, Ken’s specific flaming Shoryuken variant, the Hadouken, the Tatsumaki. On top of that, the Jinrai Kicks and the Dragon Lash special moves that debuted in Street Fighter 6 have made their way to City of the Wolves and I’m sure they’ll be every bit as obnoxious there as they are in Street Fighter.
But I’m sure Fatal Fury players will be more than happy to have Ken in the game. At least, unlike Cristiano Ronaldo and Salvatore Ganacci, Ken is from another fighting game, though I’m sure SNK fans would be more happy with actual SNK characters. Still, considering the state of the character representation at the pro level, I’m sure SNK players are more than happy to see any character that isn’t Kain or Billy.
