Keep Moving If You Want to Make It Out Alive: Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days 1.0 Hard Launch Announcement

Between the crippling economy and the heatwave taking over Walton City, nothing seems as though it could be worse than this. That is until a mysterious outbreak reaches US shores, creating a mass spread illness that takes over humanity. Within the blink of an eye, this small Texas city is overrun by the undead. Any survivors in the area are forced to stick together for the best chance of escaping the city.

Developer PikPok has officially released a “1.0 hard launch announcement” for their newest installation of their Into the Dead franchise. Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days is the third game in the series, with a fourth already lined up to release at a future date.

Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days takes on a new format compared to its predecessors and the majority of zombie games out now. This is a side scrolling journey where your choices matter, making each playthrough a new experience.

In order to lead your survivor to safety, planning ahead is the ultimate key. Your group has to be composed of reliable people, if someone doesn’t seem to be pulling their weight as much as everyone else, their life is in your hands.

Where there are survivors, there needs to be shelter. Establish and upgrade your shelters in the best ways you see fit, but no amount of barricades will be able to hold off the hordes for long.

Never staying still is also an important aspect of survival here. Resources need to be found to provide for the group, but it is at the risk of each survivor. This means stealth is recommended but not mandatory, the choice to fight is always an option, but keep in mind not everyone is a natural fighter.

Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days is currently in early access with an official release date for the 1.0 version and console launch March 2027.

Laurie Rose Contreras: Hi everyone! I'm Laurie. I love video games of all kinds, but especially horror. Being immersed into a different world feels like a mini vacation for the mind, even if it is being chased by zombies or some sort of abstract monster.
