Jurassic World Evolution Game Has Been Announced

The upcoming Xbox game Jurassic World Evolution was revealed during Microsoft’s Gamescom 2017 briefing. The game is currently being created by Frontier Developments, the same studio behind the RollerCoaster Tycoon series.

Jurassic World Evolution will give players the ability to create and run their own Jurassic Park. The park-building simulator features the breeding of dinosaurs and the development and management of a grand resort, prehistoric zoo and theme park. If the trailer is anything to go by, dealing with the consequences of security breaches in the dinosaur paddocks are another element of running a customized Jurassic World. According to Microsoft, “Every choice leads to a different path and spectacular challenges will arise when ‘life finds a way.'” T-Rex rampages are an imminent possibility.

Jurassic World Evolution is currently planned for release alongside the upcoming Jurassic World film. More details on the game will be forthcoming as we draw nearer to release; however, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (the sequel to Jurassic World) has a release date of June 22, 2018. Presumably, the game will be launched around the same time although for now it simply has a publishing window of ‘summer 2018.’ Jurassic World Evolution will be available for Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4.

Glenn Carreau: Hi! I'm Glenn: recent college grad specializing in interactive arts and media, writer, game creator and connoisseur, pop culture junkie, and semi-professional fan-artist and blogger. In my free time, I function as an unnecessarily specific gaming encyclopedia. I also play the violin, binge crime/detective procedural shows (still not sure why), and do a large amount of digital painting. I'm probably too attached to Dragon Age, but not really inclined to do anything about it. I'm a huge fan of cosplay, foxes, the prose of Jenny Lawson, and Strong Female Characters™.
