Jump Force Reveals Super Saiyan Blue Goku And More

Bandai Namco has been hyping up the roster of Jump Force since it was announced at E3 earlier this year. Filled with the recognizable and influential characters of Weekly Shonen Jump from series such as Dragon Ball, Naruto, and One Piece, it’s no wonder they have been pushing it heavily on their social media pages. A recent tweet on the official Bandai Namco twitter revealed one of Goku’s most recent transformations to be avaliable in-game, a form called Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (better known as Super Saiyan Blue), with no confirmation whether or not this will be a separate character or just a form available for Goku.

Other recent announcements for playable characters include Yugi Muto, the titular main character from ‎Yu-Gi-Oh!, who will more than likely use a unique play-style reliant on cards as he did in Jump Ultimate Stars. More characters announced recently were from Hunter x Hunter, with Gon Freecss and Hisoka Morrow, and Bleach, with Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, and Sōsuke Aizen. One Piece, the best selling manga worldwide, also had a few new characters revealed, specifically Sabo, Vinsmoke Sanji, and Marshall D. Teach (better known as Blackbeard). Many of these characters have had gameplay released by Bandai Namco, you can watch gameplay of all of these characters, excluding Yugi, here.

It was revealed along with this gameplay trailer that the game will have custom characters. This is a feature common in other recent Bandai Namco anime games, such as the Dragon Ball Xenoverse series and the recently released Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker. Not much has been revealed about the custom character feature in Jump Force at the time of writing, there is speculation that it will rely on a mentor system similar to the other Bandai Namco anime game releases with playable custom characters. But nothing has been confirmed as of now.

Slated for release in 2019, Jump Force will be available on Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
