Issues Continue for Street Fighter V, Capcom Breaks Silence

After a less-than-stellar release, Street Fighter V has continued to be plagued by problems including rage-quitters, input delay and lack of content.  Capcom has been oddly quiet on the issue, but broke silence with an update yesterday, June 2.

“We’ll be the first to admit that we can improve our communication with the community,” reads the release. “We plan to change that in the coming weeks and months and will work to quickly address topics that come up in the community as best we can.”

After a brief introduction, Capcom highlighted some issues with the game, including rage-quitting and input delay, and what they are doing to improve them.  Here’s what they had to say about input delay:

We have heard reports of input delay and have shared it with the development team. They are currently looking into the reports and we will let you know as soon as we find out more.

Rage-quitting, perhaps the biggest issue with Street Fighter V is down 60% according to the developer:

We know some of you are still not having the best experience online due to players who rage quit but we are happy to report that the latest solution has brought the amount of players who disconnect during matches down by roughly 60%.  While this is an improvement, it’s clear we still have a lot of work to do on this issue and you can expect us to roll out additional measures in the future to help address this problem.

Capcom also shed some light on Street Fighter V’s upcoming DLC character, Ibuki, as well as a new cinematic story mode:

We had originally aimed to release her in the last week of May, but in order to provide the best experience possible for our players, we decided to postpone her. We are doing our best to release the content in the last week of June.

To reiterate, we are currently aiming for the last week of June to release both Ibuki and the Cinematic Story Mode.

Street Fighter V is Capcom’s latest entry in the Street Fighter franchise.  It released on February 16, 2016.
