Iron Harvest Is A Unique RTS That Is Taking Kickstarter By Storm

Iron Harvest is an upcoming RTS pertaining to a mech-filled farming community of the 1920s. The campaign for this game came out earlier this year, and is about to surpass its goal with thirty days still left to go on its Kickstarter.

The $450,000 base goal for this Kickstarter is only a few thousand dollars away from being reached during the time of this publishing. Currently, the game promises three singleplayer campaigns, which consist of twenty-one total missions. Iron Harvest takes place during a fictitious point directly following the first World War, in which various individuals are foraging shrapnel, ammunition, and weapons that were found as a result. The developers at KING Art Games will provide an estimated twenty hours of gameplay that are spread across three different factions: Rusviet, Polania Republic, and The Saxony Empire. These all contain their own unique hero characters and units. If the stretch goal is met at $500,000, New Game Plus mode, multiplayer, a co-op campaign, cutscenes, and a DLC campaign will also be added.

Though, the developers have made it clear that they do not intend to add these stretch goals to the base game. What has already been announced will remain, with these additional features being prominent in a separate campaign, not dissimilar to a DLC pack.

Iron Harvest is one of the many Kickstarter games in recent memory to gain quick monetary traction, and an even wider reach. Crowd-sourcing is often incredibly risky given the fact that there is no guarantee of success, and usually, developers do not receive the money back if they tank. It is a relief that a game as unique as Iron Harvest flourishes within the community, and is promised through fan interest.

This is an RTS to keep your eyes on, and one that is sure to come with a lot of further updates as the Kickstarter continues to collect its share for the next month. There is no set release date, but the developers can be followed on Twitter for further updates.
