As we get closer to the end of the year, many publishers that had planned to release in the big 2026 are locking in their dates or moving into next year for fear of one game in December. Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee, but all jokes aside, this year is incredibly stacked with many games releasing soon. There are those who need more time and have decided to delay to 2027, and one of those is 007 First Light Switch 2 edition, as IO Interactive has announced it’s coming in March 2027, as they need more time to polish the game for Switch 2 performance.

007 First Light was released back in May for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and The Epic Games Store, and it was a huge success, selling 4 million copies in its first 3 months, which is huge for the revival of the 007 franchise in gaming and a huge win for IO Interactive. And it is set to receive DLC and even a sequel, so the game isn’t going anywhere. They also announced that a Switch 2 version of the game was coming in summer 2026, but IO Interactive has now delayed it to March 2027, as they need more time to polish the game’s performance on the Switch 2.
“To ensure we deliver the quality of experience players expect, we have made the decision to delay the release to March 2027, with the exact date to be communicated later. This additional time will go toward polishing the Nintendo Switch 2 performance of the game.”
Though the game has been delayed, a demo will be available at the Tokyo Game Show this week, so if you were looking to try it out, you will be able to there. It sucks that the game will take longer for Nintendo fans, but it’s for the best: it’ll launch in the best condition, so you only have to wait til March 2027.
