Alright, fun’s over Xbox One and PC users. Time to let everyone have a turn with Inside.
Playdead’s follow-up to its indie darling Limbo originally came out on June 29th, a little over a month ago, on Xbox One and July 7th on PC. In that time, the game had garnered a fair bit of praise for itself with most outlets saying it was a worthy successor to the original.
You can read more about how the game did in our review round-up.
Inside is a game about a kid working his way inside a dystopian city in search of something. Players must navigate traps, solve puzzles, and not die horribly. It’s a dark, dismal, wonderfully fun time.
While the game was being played by tons of gamers a massive group of players were left out in the cold, namely, PS4 owners. Naturally, they wanted to know when they would be able to explore Inside’s dark and depressing world.
The game was technically an Xbox exclusive but whenever the topic of a PS4 version came up Playdead always gave a vaguely positive response, like the one given to PushSquare.
“Our goal is of course to get Inside into the hands of as many gamers as possible, but we can’t say anything about other potential platforms at this point.”
After that, life went on as usual until Exophase discovered a list of trophies for the game. Then it was only a matter of time before the game would get an official announcement.
That announcement came today via the PlayStation Twitter account which simply said that the game would be out on August 23rd.
