It’s been almost 20 years since the last Megaman Battle Network game has been released. A staple in the Gameboy of any young gamer in the mid 2000s, Capcom’s Megaman Battle Network was a timeless classic and a fantastic blend of the deep JRPG stories that were popular the decade before while also providing the engaging and addicting gameplay of Capcom classics. In the 20 years since the last Battle Network many games inspired by the series have risen to capture the feel those classic games brought, and it looks like another one is on the horizon with BERSERK B.I.T.S by BerserkBoyGames.
Engaging in the same premise as the Battle Network games, with a very internet centric style and setting, BERSERK B.I.T.S is a logical modernization of the concept, including dragging and dropping the main character throughout your desktop while also maintaining the internet browsing adventure style of the Battle Network games it’s paying homage to.
The gameplay is very interesting, when we say that you can drag and drop the main character around your desktop we don’t mean an “in-game” desktop, we mean your actual desktop. The game’s premise is an idle-rpg/auto-battler that’s meant to run, not necessarily in the background, but alongside your other applications and workloads. If you’re working on an Excel spreadsheet or writing an article you can have BERSERK B.I.T.S running right next to whatever you’re working on to keep yourself motivated as both you and your Net Navi work through your individual struggles.
The game is a unique twist on a classic game series, and it’ll be interesting to see how the game develops as it goes on, as BerserkBoyGames has stated that they’ll be working on the game continuously after release.
