A gameplay trailer for the upcoming fighting game, Injustice 2 was released. It was shown during the Mortal Kombat X Pro League season 3 finals. The trailer shows off the some of the new supers in the game as well as the edition of few more characters. According to the developer this is only the surface as they promise a “massive” cast of characters once the game is released. The characters in the trailer include: Superman, Batman, Supergirl, Aqua Man, Gorilla Grodd, Atrocitus, and Black Manta. The trailer can be viewed below.
From the gameplay footage shown in the trailer, one can assume that this latest installment will play very much like the previous one. It continues to showcase the familiar DC Comic settings and characters thrown into various destructible and interactive environments. The over the top super moves that players are able to perform are also present in this trailer. What does appear to be different based on the trailer, is that a lot of the moves seem to be even more over the top than the previous game. Over the top in the sense that there is a lot going on once they are activated. The cut scenes for some of the environment changes also seem a bit more over the top than the original.
The graphics showcased in the trailer were rather ordinary to say the least. It may be because they are showcasing an unfinished product but the game did not look as “next gen” as many of the other games that have been previewed before E3. The graphics seem to be more plain, especially when compared to its contemporaries. The graphics are not awful of course, but when the capabilities of next generation gaming are being constantly being pushed to the forefront, they do leave something to desire.
The game is set for a 2017 release and is already available for preorder.
