Indie Puzzle Game Q.U.B.E. 2 Drops New Gameplay Trailer

Fans of Portal, listen up. While it was the game that defined the genre, some new and exciting entries have come onto the scene in recent years.

In 2011, Toxic Games released Q.U.B.E., or Quick Understanding of Block Extrusion. The innovative indie puzzler challenged players, armed with special gloves, to manipulate cubes and complete challenges. Though it has never been immensely well known, it received excellent reviews on Steam, and was by all accounts enjoyed by those who experienced it. A director’s cut was released in 2014 that featured an all new story and new soundtrack.

This year, the developers are set to release a sequel, Q.U.B.E. 2. This time around, players will embody a British Archaeologist who has found herself on an alien planet and must work with a fellow survivor to find a way home.

It’s hard not to be reminded of Portal when watching the trailer, but it is clear that Q.U.B.E 2 has incorporated some new and different elements into its puzzling that allow it to stand out from its predecessors.
