Inaugural Mobies Ceremony Crown TikTok, S8ul Esports, Marvel Snap, & More

The biggest names and brands in the mobile industry were present during the inaugural Mobies awards ceremony last Friday. Held at Infinite Reality Studios in Los Angeles and hosted by Daniel “dGon” Gonzales, Elyse “Herculyse” Herrera, and Garrett “Shady” Smith Junior, the Mobies crowned the winners off all of their assorted categories for 2023.

Thirteen awards were given to those deemed the best in the mobile gaming industry. A star-studded guestlist was present at the ceremony such as YouTuber GloZell, Brazilian content creator Bruno “Nobru” Goes, Swedish YouTuber Tobias “Panda” Näslund, and PlayerUnknown’s BattleGrounds: MOBILE streamer Naman “Mortal” Sandeep Mathur. In addition, many fans from all over the globe tuned into the witness their favorite personalities, companies, and video games were crowned winners at the Mobies’ first ever ceremony.

Mobies gave Game of the Year to Genshin Impact; Competitive Game of the Year to Mobile Legends: Bang Bang; Mobile Content Creator of the Year to Judo Sloth; Mobile Team of the Year to ECHO; Mobile Player of the Year to Frederic “Bennyqt” Gonzales; Mobile Esports Tournament of the Year to the Mobile Legends to Bang Bang M4 World Championships; Mobile Indie Game of the Year to Playdead’s Limbo; Mobile Developer of the Year to LIGHTSPEED STUDIOs; Mobile Device of the Year to the Redmagic 8 Pro; Mobile App of the Year to TikTok; Coverage Platform of the Year to Liquipedia; and Mobile Breakthrough Game of the Year to Marvel Snap.

Furthermore, the Mobies featured a surprise award to S8ul Esports to recognize all the effort they put into the event and all those associated. S8ul Esports was given Global Impact on Mobile Gaming which credited them for going above and beyond when elevating the mobile industry.

Watched by over twenty million people each year, the Mobies was founded by the team behind the Esports Awards. The Mobies were announced in December of 2022, to be an upcoming award ceremony dedicated to the ever-growing industry. They aim to document, recognize, and reward significant exemplars of excellence within the mobile industry. “This year, we set out on an incredibly challenging venture–from setting up new IP, to creating a unique, one-of-a-kind event that elevates the voice of the mobile industry.
