Imperiums: Greek Wars Coming in July 30th

Historical 4X grand strategy game, Imperiums: Greek Wars will be debuting on July 30th, of this year after decade of going through development. Imperiums: Greek Wars is an attempt at mixing a turn-based 4X and historical grand strategy game with a mythological twist. While developing Imperiums: Greek Wars,  Kube Games took inspiration from their previous game Aggressors: Ancient Rome.

Players will be cast back to the time of King Philip the II of Macedon, the father of the famous Alexander the Great, in his conquest of Hellas (Greece). This places the world space at the end of the Classical Greek era, which concluded with Athen’s capitulation during the Peloponnesian War, and the start of the Hellenistic Greek era which would end with Greece falling to Rome.

The main game focuses on the rise of Macedon from a city-state that was considered a backward farming kingdom into a military power with the reformation of the common hoplite and phalanx into the Macedonian phalanx and hoplites, an army formation that would create the second-largest empire before the age of gunpowder, and creating a some to the first horse-mounted Calvary units in Greek warfare.

Players can take control of thirty factions: ranging Macedon, Sparta, Athens, Thebes, multiple satrapies of the Persian Empire, Illyrians, which is a collective term for non-Greeks of the northern Balkans and the Adriatic sea who would be removed by the Slavs during their invasion, and possibly prominent Greek Islands such as Lesvos, Rhodes or Phonecian cities such as Tyre.

Players can optionally add in Ancient Greek mythology, which formed during the Minoan/Mycenaean era of Greece thousands of years before the commonly known about Antiquital Greece. All of which can be toggled off for historical accuracy. Imperiums: Greek Wars mainly takes place on a map that consists of mainland Greece, southern Thrace, Ionia coasts of Anatolia, and several islands of the Aegean sea. Players can also make custom maps in a map editor and make specific campaign scenarios.

Imperiums: Greek Wars will be launching with online and offline multiplayer, Steam Workshop integration, and a challenging iron man mode to test the players.

Griffin Gilman: Gaming may very well be half of my personality, so it is only natural that I write about them. The best genre is RPGs, while the best game is Nier Automata. That's not an opinion but a matter of facts.
