The term “going gold” means the game is complete and ready to be pressed into a disc that will be mass-produced. It marks a huge milestone in a game’s development. However, this doesn’t mean Ubisoft is finished with Immortals: Fenyx Rising, developers will still be working hard on bug fixes until its release date. This gives developers 36 days to tweak their product until the Immortals: Fenyx Rising launch day. Ubisoft’s action-adventure game is based on Greek mythology. It follows a Greek warrior, Fenyx, who must save the Gods from an evil Titan. According to CBR, the lore of Immortals: Fenyx Rising starts,
Long ago, a soldier by the name of Fenyx found themselves stranded on the Golden Isle. Initially occupied by the Greek Gods, the Golden Isle was now overrun with beasts and demons from the Underworld. A Titan named Typhon stole the holy land from the Gods and began causing havoc due to a dark curse.
It originally debuted as Gods & Monsters, and the name change sparked a few rumors, including a trademark dispute with Monster Energy Drink. However, game director Scott Phillips told Gamespot, “that it wanted to put more emphasis on the main character, Fenyx, and to put her front-and-center.” Players will explore the open-world, solve mind-bending puzzles and fight monsters only seen in myths. The story will be narrated by the king of gods himself, Zeus, along with the all-knowing Titan Prometheus. Fenyx will have to earn the Gods’ trust by collecting their blessings, items, and even their abilities.
Immortals: Fenyx Rising will launch with both a standard and gold edition. The gold edition will include the season pass, the Hades Shadowmaster character pack (gears and skins), the Orion Weapon pack (constellation weapon skins), and the Prism Wings (rainbow-colored wings). It’s not yet known what’s included in the season pass. Immortals: Fenyx Rising launches December 3 of this year.
