UPDATE 2: If You Like Uncharted, Then You’ll Love Hideo Kojima’s New Game

UPDATE 2: (5/17 3:54)

After yesterday’s poll on Twitter Kojima sent out a series of tweets which revealed what the company’s mascot, Ludence, is wearing.

It looks like if you picked “other” in the poll you’d be correct, as the suit is an extra-vehicular activity (EVA) Creativity Suit.

Kojima also said that his new company promises to deliver “new play in the new future with the cutting0-edge equipment, technology and the frontier spirit.”

UPDATE: (5/16 2:18)

Today on Twitter Hideo Kojima revealed the name of his company’s mascot (pictured above), Gamespot reports.

Named Ludence, the tweet Kojima asked fans what they think the helmeted mascot is wearing.

Comments range from people suggesting Ludence is wearing a dapper suit, to others saying that he is a chicken from the neck down.

Kojima didn’t say when fans will find out what Ludence looks like, but we’ll let you know when we get more information.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Do you know what would be the perfect follow up to Uncharted 4, which came out yesterday to stellar reviews,  Hideo Kojima’s next game, at least he thinks so.

In a recent interview with Famitsu, which was translated by Gematsu, Kojima talked little about his first game since his split from Konami.

From what it sounds like the game is still very much in the early development stages, but the genre of the game is action. And while Kojima admits the game might not floor audiences out of the gate, they will understand when they get their hands on it.

We’re thinking about everything all at once, including the plot, characters, and game systems. Since certain parts are fairly new, we cannot help but experiment…When it is announced, you might think ‘that’s not that outstanding,’ but you’ll understand when you see it and play it. The genre is action.

Kojima adds that while his new game isn’t strictly speaking “open-world”, fans of The Division and Uncharted will feel right at home.

While not to say that it’s open-world, users who enjoy today’s AAA games (The Division and Uncharted, etc.) will be able to easily enjoy it.

When asked about VR and if we could expect a Kojima Productions game to feature it in some way he sounded interested, but currently has no plans to develop for VR.

I want to make something with VR, but right now we don’t have anyone. I think VR holds the key to game development.

One thing that Kojima was coy about was his company’s new logo, which might be hiding something.

I can’t say anything yet, but there is a secret to the logo. It has a very cool body, and we even have plans to turn it into a figure.

Could the logo be hinting at a future game or something more? In an interview with Gamespot at DICE Kojima mentioned how he would like his new studio to make more than just games.

Currently Kojima’s next game is planned as PS4 console-exclusive, with a PC version to release later.
