Hotline Miami 2 Level Editor Goes Live

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number’s level editor has finally gone live. Hotline Miami 2 first previewed its level editor over 2 years ago. The level editor allows the player to design their own playable Hotline Miami levels. This includes everything from the colors of the room, the placements of walls and doors, the furniture that took up space in the room, etc. The level designer also allows the payer to design not only the placement of enemies but also their weapons, tendencies, and behavioral patterns even further enhancing the customization level for this game.  Players are also capable of sharing and playing each others custom levels. This addition to the game is essentially a gory, retro filled version of Mario Maker. The trailer they released for the level editor originally can be viewed below.

The level editor was put into beta December 10th, 2015. The beta had all the features already available with the promises of ore content and patches in the work as the open beta for the level editor was being tested out. The beta was only available on windows via Steam Workshop.

This addition to the game will allow players to not only design their own levels but also their own story campaigns. It will even allow then to customize their own story cut scenes allowing players to immerse themselves even deeper in the blood and neon tinged world of the Hotline Line Miami games. Players will also have the ability to tweak preexisting levels if they do not want to create a level entirely from scratch. This newly added layer to the Hotline Miami games adds a good chunk of replayability for what has mostly been considered a 9 to 10-hour long game.

To honor the level editor finally being released, Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is currently 75% off in the Steam Store. Steam is also offering a package deal of both games: Hotline Miami and Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number for 75% off the original price of this bundle.
