Horror Game Mouthwashing Sales Have Topped 500,000 And The Game Has Been Announced Across Console Platforms

Publisher Critical Reflex and developer Wrong Organ have announced that they will be releasing PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch versions of their first-person psychological horror game Mouthwashing sometime this year; Physical editions will be made available for the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, the Fangamer website. Gematsu shares Mouthwashing first launched on PC via Steam September 26, 2024. It is important to note that since this time, sales for the game exceeded 500,000 units sold.

Mouthwashing takes place on the Tulpar, a pony express courier set to deliver cargo in a long haul trip through space. You will assume the role of former co-pilot Jimmy who takes on the mantle of captain following a devastating crash landing. The crew will weather horrendous conditions including starvation and isolation; scares are hidden in plain sight.

Six One Indie asked Wrong Organ developer Jeffrey Tomec how they keep players engaged whether it be with trickery, pathfinding or camerawork “Theres a couple ways we do that, the biggest one, it’s really pretty simple as in most games have pretty sensible production work flows where you have your core mechanics and you use those a lot over the course of your game; and we just didn’t really do that cause we’ve  got a walking sim – most every scene in Mouthwashing is made from scratch most of the time. So we have massive gameplay segments, that took way too long, that you do for like five minutes and never come up again. I would say the game is surprisingly fresh scene to scene, more than you would expect…”

Developer Wrong Organ has prided themselves in delivering a unique experience and Mouthwashing with its record reaching sales has also released to a positive reception in the past year. Players on consoles will finally get to experience this dark, foreboding, and mind-bending narrative this year.
