Without a doubt, one of the most anticipated titles for 2022 is Guerilla Game’s Horizon: Forbidden West. The PlayStation exclusive has been making waves with its updates in recent months, and the studio has yet another piece of content that they’re ready to show us. This time it has to do with some of the enemies that you’ll encounter within the game, namely, the extremely dangerous machines that roam the world of Forbidden West.
The trailer shows off three new machines, all of which look like they can tear apart anything in sight at any given time. The first is the armored Rollerback, which can launch itself in a very fast spin attack. The second is the Sunswing, which is essentially a flying pterodactyl that is supposedly powered by the sun. The third and most terrifying is the Razerfang, a massive snake machine that can coil itself around giant buildings with creepily large fangs. All of this is just a taste as to what Aloy has to contend with in the new and scary world.
The trailer shows each machine in a beautiful fashion, but it also gives us a glimpse of Aloy’s other ability, using the machines to her advantage. We see Aloy actually riding one of the smaller machines, which should offer the player a much faster form of travel, especially considering that all of the exploring that we’re going to do. Horizon: Forbidden West is currently slated for a release in February, which has become a seriously crowded release month. In addition to this title, we’re also expecting to see Sifu, the Saints Row Reboot, Dying Light 2, and the single most anticipated launch of the year, Elden Ring. Needless to say, we’re in for a busy month.
Horizon: Forbidden West will officially launch on February 18, 2022, for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
