It looks like Squanch Games High On Life might be coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 as it was spotted on the PlayStation backend
High on Life, a strange, yet funny first-person action adventure shooter with Metroidvania elements was spotted on the PS4’s backend earlier this week. The game is currently an Xbox and PC exclusive, but this might all change.
This news comes from IGN, along with VGC who reported on this somewhat official confirmation by Twitter user Knoebel, who found PS4 version on the PlayStation 4 backend from Orbis Patches, a website that tracks PlayStation 4 updates. Within this listing on Orbis Patches, is a small 9.8 GB update. A quick look in the ‘Patch Notes’ section, is mainly general bug fixes and improvements, with the creation date of July 17th, 2023 and the page being last updated on July 19th. With this information, one can assume that a PlayStation version exists, despite no official announcement.
Originally High on Life was released on Xbox One and Xbox Series consoles, along with a PC release in December 2022. Along with a release on Xbox and PC, it was released on GamePass as well. According to the Steam page, you play as an intergalactic bounty hunter that teams up with talking guns after an alien cartel wants to get high off humanity, and invades Earth. At launch, the game broke three Game Pass records as it quickly became the best-selling game on Game Pass with Microsoft announcing that the game broke records, and was the best-selling Xbox game of 2022. In response to this, the GM for Content Planning at Xbox, Matt Percey commented on High on Life‘s success, saying the game, “…is a unique title…It’s fantastic to see so many Game Pass members jump into it at launch to experience Squanch’s story for themselves ahead of the holidays.”
You can purchase and play High on Life now on Xbox One, Xbox Series consoles, PC and GamePass now, with the expansion for the game High on Knife coming soon. LEZ DO IT.
