Hideo Kojima Hints At Returning To Making Horror Games

The creator of the Metal Gear Solid series and Death Stranding appears to be preparing to return to work on creating horror video games. In a recent tweet, Hideo Kojima stated that in a Tweet that he would be making the “scariest” horror game. In order to do this, he is preparing by watching a lot of horror movies including The Eye which he apparently rented when he was making P.T..

It is unclear if Kojima actually intends to develop another horror game or is merely preparing for the opportunity. This tweet could contradict Kojima’s statement back in 2017 in which according to Gamespot he stated that he was done making Horror games. Unfortunately, fans of Kojima will never be able to see what his brand of horror could have been with Silent Hills after his fallout with the publisher Konami.

Hideo Kojima’s latest work Death Stranding recently reached the biggest launch for new IP in Japan with the game reaching approximately 185,909 copies sold at retail in Japan five days after its release. The game released back on November 8th for PlayStation 4 exclusively and will be getting a PC release this summer of 2020 which is being published by 505 games. Kojima has not released another Tweet so it is currently unknown if he has finished The Eye or if it has galvanized him to continue working on Horror games and awakened his “horror soul” as he stated in his Tweet.
