Heroes of The Storm Receiving New Game Mode

Earlier today, Blizzard Entertainment revealed details about their upcoming update “Heroes Brawl” to the intense and action-packed Heroes of the Storm. Heroes Brawl evolved from Arena mode, now allowing players to battle on unique battlegrounds that flip the perception of Heroes of the Storm upside down.

What sets this update apart is the fact that each week the rules for Heroes Brawl will change. One week players can be playing a brawl and everyone is Nova and be able to Snipe Insta-kill heroes. While the next week may feature playing on a normal team but on a map that only has one lane . Blizzard boasts that there are so many potential variations for brawl that each one will be better than the previous week. A few examples of the variations include:

Hover Time- All players on each team are Sgt. Hammers with thrusters permanently engaged. The cores are invulnerable and players will need to capture towers to win.

Punisher Arena- Kill enemy heroes and Punishers to rack up points. The first team to reach a score of 100 points wins.

Lost Cavern– A standard map with only one lane.

Along with new game modes each week, there will be three new kinds of battlegrounds: standard with mutators, new arenas, and single- lane battlegrounds. The first is Punisher Arena, which tasks players with reaching a score of 100 by killing enemy heroes and punishers. The second will be Sky Temple Arena, requiring players to capture temples and use their energy beams to destroy an enemy’s core. Finally the Garden Arena requires players to collect 100 seeds by killing Garden Terrors and Shambles.

Mutators will be seeing their debut in the new update by “add[ing] completely new and unexpected quirks to drastically change how you play Heroes of the Storm”. Other than that Blizzard said that they didn’t want to spoil too much about what kind of mutators the update will include.

Lastly, Heroes Brawl will have a new feature that allows for unique hero selections. For each brawl players will be able to choose from either having a preset hero, pick a hero from a custom lineup, or have a random player chosen for them. Players will also receive a weekly reward ranging from portraits to 1,000 gold if they participate in three Brawls per week.

Heroes Brawl will become available to PTR on October 10th, with the official launch date happening during the week of October 17.
