Earlier this year, Quantic Dream announced that their three previously PS4 exclusive titles, Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls and Detroit: Become Human would be making their way onto PC through the Epic Games Store. The first of the line-up being the the critically acclaimed thriller drama Heavy Rain which had first released in 2010 back on the PS3. At the time of the announcements, there was no release date for when the trio of games would come out, aside from 2019. However, with a recent tweet came a slew of information. The first being that Heavy Rain has a demo:
The demo for Heavy Rain is shown to take roughly 45 minutes to complete. It focuses on two of the 4 playable main characters that you control through the story; FBI Agent Norman Jayden, and Private Investigator Scott Shelby. The goal of the game, and the focus of the demo, is to uncover the identity of the notorious “Origami Killer” through clues and anecdotes.
The demo is two chapters of the first act: Scott Shelby showing up to the mother of a previous victim to try and see what information she has about what happened. And for Norman Jayden, at the scene of the discovered body, uncovering clues such as an origami figurine (hence the name title), and traces of orchid pollen. Norman uses an interesting piece of technology known as ARI, which has some… side-effects.
For game release dates, Heavy Rain will officially be out on June 24, in roughly a month’s time. As for the other two titles of the David Cage trilogy, Beyond: Two Souls will have a demo release date of June 27, with an expected full game release on July 22. However, Detroit: Become Human still has no date for either demo or release date as of currently. The Heavy Rain demo is currently available to play for free on the Epic Games Store which can be found here.
