According to Forbes article, Hearthstone, the strategy card video game for PC, Mac and mobile devices developed by Blizzard Entertainment, the company behind World of Warcraft and Overwatch, is scheduled to soon receive a new expansion called “Journey to Un’Goro.” The announcement was made via the Hearthstone YouTube channel.
The title of the expansion refers to Un’Goro Crater, a jungle landscape filled with elemental, plant and dinosaur monsters. Elemental will be added as a new minion type in “Journey to Un’Goro” and some previously existing minions will have their types changed to Elemental.
At the heart of Un’Goro Crater is a volcano, which appears as the new Volcano card, one of 135 new cards that will be introduced in the expansion.
A new mechanic called “Adapt” is being introduced into the game, which will allow some cards to upgrade based on one of three randomly chosen abilities. Some examples of possible Adaptations are “Flaming Claws,” which gives +3 Attack, and “Crackling Shield,” which provides a Divine Shield.
Also new to this expansion is a new type of card called a Quest card. Quest cards give the player the opportunity to complete an assigned quest for the reward of a very powerful card, such as “Amara, Warden of Hope,” which sets your hero’s Health to 40.
New cards from “Journey to Un’Goro” will be shown on March 17th and the full expansion will be available in early April, which is also when the game’s Year of the Mammoth will start. You can watch the full announcement video below.
