Hauma – A Detective Noir Story Coming To PC & Nintendo Switch Later This Fall

Assemble Entertainment and developer SenAm Games have announced an all-new narrative-based investigative-based visual novel called Hauma – A Detective Noir Story. the story unfolds in a thrilling, comic-inspired visual style that will amplify the unique narrative elements. Hauma will challenge players to master the art of deduction and uncover a harrowing conspiracy perpetuated by the city’s upper echelon. The game will be released on PC via Steam and Itch.io and Nintendo Switch later this Fall.

Hauma – A Detective Story follows Judith, a former detective being roused out of retirement by the suspicious goings-on of Muich’s upper class. As players track down and interrogate the city’s cabal, real-world locations can be explored in a distinctive, graphic novel art style, discovering pieces of hidden history and using these clues to probe the mystery within. Players will make their own investigative deductions by collecting items, solving puzzles, and overcoming dialogue riddles.

Deductions are developed through the mindboard, a main mechanic of Hauma. It’s an innovative inventory of interconnected items and thoughts that, when weaved together correctly, uncover clues and unravel mysteries.

According to Assemble, Hauma’s vibrant, graphic novel-styled art visually engages you in a gripping story and doesn’t let you go until you’ve earthed every last conspiracy. The game will also feature a fully-voiced, diverse cast and evocative characters.

Hauma – A Detective Story joins other indie games from Assemble Entertainment including Windy Meadow – A Roadwarden TaleBetween HorizonsMira and the Legends of the Djinns, and Verne: The Shape of Fantasy.

The game was recently shown in the Indie Live Expo. “Hauma’s stand-out narrative delivery and female-led plot make it an excellent addition to this year’s showcase that celebrates indie developers and their games from around the world,” Assemble Entertainment said.

A demo is available to try on Steam as well as the Prologue to get a first impression of Judith’s story. The full game’s four chapters plus the prologue tells the complete story of Judith and her search for the mystical Hauma.
