Halo Infinite News Announced in March Inside Infinite

Recently, the 343 Industries team announced more features for the upcoming title in the Halo series in their monthly Inside Infinite. The original release date for the game was set for the Xbox Series systems, but unfortunately, the game was delayed. Now, between pianos being smashed for audio sounds in the new game and potential release date of November later this year, fans cannot wait to explore more areas of the Halo universe and follow Master Chief on a new mission.

In the recent Inside Infinite, audio team developers–Sotaro Tojima, Chase Thompson, Kyle Fraser, and Joel Yarger–discussed their latest updates and plans for Halo Infinite as well as what they’ve learned from older games. Thompson mentioned how the team developed “new audio systems and technologies we’ve developed” to create greater spatial awareness and an immersive experience for players. He discussed a little bit of the process of how using reverb and propagation can provide a natural soundscape reflecting the way sound would travel in the virtual atmosphere.

They also partnered with three composers to create the audio for the campaign which will feature “brighter and hopeful” music featuring more major keys. Each of the composers has their own unique set of skills ranging from choral, synths, and piano composing to directing orchestras. The team hopes to bring a new but also familiar sound to players as they traverse through the game.

Finally, the team shared their hopes for the game and thanked the Halo community for their feedback. They mentioned there last few months will be spent polishing and refining content and more to make the game the best it can be. Starting today, fans of the series can stream three songs available on Spotify.
