Halo Infinite Multiplayer Progression System Changes Detailed

Following the surprise release of Halo Infinite’s multiplayer for Xbox and Halo’s 20th-anniversary, the response has been overwhelmingly positive as many fans have noted that the game feels like a return to the Halo trilogy days where the franchise was the king of multiplayer shooters. It hasn’t been all positive though. The one thing that everyone agrees on is how rough the progression system in the game is. Since the release and the feedback, developer 343 Industries has noted that they are paying attention and that changes will continue to be made.

The first round of changes made to the progression system included the addition of Play 1 game challenges that reward players simply by playing the game. XP boosts were also doubled from 30 minutes to an hour. Players can also earn XP by completing matchmade games. The devs also updated the Challenge deck so players of all skill levels can benefit.

Today, more changes were announced. Community manager John Junyszek announced that the amount of Battle Pass XP will be increased for the first six matches of the day. The first game is worth 300 XP, then 200 XP for the next two games, 100 XP for games 4, 5, and 6. The 7th game onwards is worth 50 XP. Junyszek said, “we believe this increase will help address those slower initial payouts while also benefiting those of you jumping on each and every day.”

Junyszek reiterated 343 Industries and said that more changes will be implemented in the future but that it’s going to take time.
