Guilty Gear Strive Reveals New Map and Final DLC Character for Season Pass 2

On May 17th, Arc System Works released a trailer announcing the final part of their Guilty Gear Strive, season pass two, as well as confirmation that there will be an upcoming season pass three. In this final part of season pass two, they announced a new character in Asuka #R, otherwise known as That Man. Additionally, there will be a new battle stage in Tir na nOg, and forty-eight additional colors for the game’s characters, as a celebration of Guilty Gear’s twenty-fifth anniversary. All of this is set to be released on May 25, 2023.

Although this is all DLC, not all of it will need to be paid for. Players will have access to 24 out of the 48 DLC colors added to the roster. With forty-eight colors, there will be two colors added to each character. However, for players who are not spending money, they will still be able to get one new color for each character in the game through this DLC.

As far as the character goes, Asuka #R is a character many fans of the series have been waiting for. Asuka #R, or That Man, has been a primary antagonist of the series since the original game came out back in 1998 according to the guilty gear wiki. That being said, he had never actually gotten a playable character, with even his appearance being mostly unknown until now.

Alongside the release of the announcement trailer came an eight minute long gameplay video, where Asuka #R plays against Giovanna and a Sol Badguy. In this gameplay video players can see that Asuka #R will be a ranged fighter, with twenty-six types of spells that can be used with a range of effects depending on the battle situation.

Another point of note here is how early Guilty Gear is bringing out this DLC. Bedman? released a little over a month ago as of writing this. Sin, the previous DLC character, came out almost six months before that according to noisypixel. Although the range of DLC character release dates seems to vary, there won’t be too much complaining from the community about getting new Guilty Gear content, which will release on May 25.
