Arc System Works has pushed back the release of their upcoming fighter Guilty Gear Strive. It will now launch on June 11 instead of April 9, a two month delay and the most recent one since the initial 2020 launch time frame. The company made the decision to push the title back due to the amount of feedback they received from the open beta test they ran couple of weeks ago. According to Arc System Works, they “need extra time to polish some aspects of the game” with a specific mention pertaining to the matchmaking lobbies and the overall stability of the servers.
Judging from this statement, like Arc System Works already has the main game itself ready to go and only needs a little more time to perfect the title. Despite yet another delay for the long awaited entry in the fabled fighting game series, it’s worth noting that it will be a very short one as the delay is only a mere two months. Also, the fact that they’re utilizing all of the feedback that they received from the open beta’s is a very good sign. Thankfully the existing issues are only pertaining to the online lobbies and connection stability, which means that the main functionality of the game is already set and ready to go.
Guilty Gear Strive will be the newest main entry for the series since 2014’s Guilty Gear Xrd, and will include brand new characters as well as a major face lift for the art style. Some of the returning fighters include long time stalwarts such as Sol Badguy, Ky Kiske, Faust, Anji Mito, and I-No. The game will have 15 fighters at launch and will more than likely introduce a Season Pass at later time which will include more characters for the game.
Guilty Gear Strive will officially launch on June 11 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC through Steam.
