In a recent announcement by Rockstar Games, they announced the creation of an underground nightclub and social space, named The Music Locker as part of the Cayo Perico Heist update, the largest update in GTA Online’s seven-year history. The Music Locker will be hosting real-life DJ’s as a way to help fill the gap in concerts and events left by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Players can expect to experience an immersive nightclub scene. Up until now, there has been construction seen at The Diamond Casino & Resort along with muffled sounds of drums and music. But soon, users will be able to visit The Music Locker located in Los Santos directly under The Diamond.

GTA Online is following other popular multiplayer games like Fortnite and Roblox by creating online venues for real-world artists. However, unlike Fortnite whose venues are part of its party royal island mode, GTA Online is taking a more realistic approach with modeling The Music Locker after the traditional underground music scene – as you would find in Los Angeles.
Rockstar has already lined up some prolific artists such as Detroit’s Moodymann, a soul, techno, and disco artist, as well as his backup dancers for opening week. Later, we can expect to see Berlin collective, Keinemusik, and Palms Trax perform. Rockstar has also made custom avatars for these performers to use when appearing in-game.
While The Music Locker will be open to all players, owners of a Penthouse in the Diamond Casino & Resort will receive VIP access. This includes table service in the Music Locker’s VIP section where VIP’s can drink with Los Santos elites.
Rockstar also hinted at the inclusion of new radio stations, DJs, and music in this update which they declared as “the city’s biggest musical update since launch.” This update is free and set to release on December 15.
