GreedFall Teaser Trailer: Where Soldiers Meet the Supernatural

Magic in history has always been a taboo subject, especially during the 17th century where such a practice would never be accepted by society. GreedFall challenges that notion, by forcing magic and early historians to face off. Not because it is being rejected, but because it is desperately needed; especially since citizens are exponentially dying off.

Land and conquership doesn’t seem to be the main objective in this game. Instead, this era is ridden by an incurable disease, and the protagonist is on a desperate hunt to find the cure. “There is a glimmer of hope on the horizon – an Island, remote and hidden, has been discovered.” The game developers Spiders go to explain.

Times are desperate, and beggers definitely shouldn’t choose; but in GreedFall, the beggers don’t even to ask. The Old World is under terrorism from the Malichor plague, and there is only one resource that can provide help. The island Teer Fradee has been spared from the touch of the disease, but not from discovery and, quite soon, invasion.

GreedFall is an RPG that offers beautifully artistic features inspired from the Baroque era. The game operates like a true RPG, allowing players the capability to “forge and break alliances, weaving your way through an intricate reputation system.” GreedFall is also a choice based game; meaning that every decision a player makes will greatly influence their consequences and next moves. “Your ability to handle diplomatic encounters, and who you will decide to help or fight, will ultimately impact the geopolitical landscape of the island, leading to peace treaties and bustling communities… or declarations of war…” Spiders also warns that whatever decision your character makes will greatly impact your own comrads as well.

GreedFall is set to release sometime this year for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. For now, fans can follow GreedFall on their twitter page to keep up with updates.
