Back in May, everyone in the gaming community was on high alert when a potential pre-order date for Grand Theft Auto VI leaked. However, nothing came to pass as reports suggested that the leak was an accident on the retailer’s side. Take-Two shared that marketing for the game was set to begin in the summer as we inch ever so closer to its November 19 release date. Today, Rockstar has unveiled the game’s official cover art and has announced that pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI will begin on June 25.

“Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI will officially begin on June 25 on digital storefronts and at other select retailers,” Rockstar Games said. “Add Grand Theft Auto VI to your wishlist today on the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store to get alerted when pre-orders are live.”
Take-Two CEO, Strauss Zelnick describes his statement about the GTA 6 marketing as huge:
“You know me pretty well, for me to even say we’ve got marketing beats coming this summer, is a huge departure from what I usually say.”

Back when the pre-order date reportedly leaked, there were talks about a new trailer getting released. That may happen but who knows when? Summer is here, and as Take-Two said, marketing will begin in Summer. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said:

Zelnick affirmed that his level of confidence in th release date is as high as it can be with marketing locked in for the summer.
What those marketing beats are remains to be seen. It could be new screenshots, a new trailer, or the gameplay series videos that shared details about different aspects of the game.
