Well, after all of the emotions following Rockstar Games announcing Grand Theft Auto VI’s delay to May 26, 2026, and then releasing a new official trailer and info shortly afterwards, a Grand Theft Auto title is reportedly releasing later this year, just not the one everyone expected. According to insider Tez2, someone at Rockstar had “hinted” at a GTA IV port, and “by now it should’ve gone up a year in development.”
RUMOR: Rockstar is claimed to be remastering both Max Payne 3 and Grand Theft Auto IV🚀
Max Payne 3 remaster is also claimed to launch around Max Payne 1 and 2 remakes by Remedy.
Which one do want more?😎

Tez2 noted that this is the reason for the shutdown of the fan-made Liberty City Preservation Project earlier this year. This goal for the project was to add a playable version of GTA IV’s map to Grand Theft Auto V. “We may end up seeing it drop later this year,” Tez2 wrote on the GTA forum. “And it’s one more reason, in addition to existing reasons, the LCPP mod was taken down.”
According to Tez, the long anticipated GTAIV port appears to be in-development for current-gen consoles per his source.

Tez2 also added that if Rockstar follows their path that was laid out during the pandemic, a Max Payne 3 port would follow. ” If they still follow their plan laid out from the pandemic days, they’ll do an MP3 port after IV. So that is an opportunity to do a bundle or a Definitive Edition. Max Payne 1 & 2 remakes, and a Max Payne 3 port.”
As I said before, I do think Rockstar will drop a new remaster this year as it seems Take-Two has mandated new releases from Rockstar every year.
We have seen this trend of new remasters coming out since 2021

According to Tez2, this version of Grand Theft Auto IV will come to “modern” platforms, so it’ll be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It’s still unknown whether it is coming to Nintendo.
Plus, it would make sense since Lucia was born and raised in Liberty City. A remaster could attract younger players who haven’t experienced GTA IV, especially after they finish GTA VI
Anyway, time to keep eyes out on Korean rating board again!
