NIS America has announced that it will release a “LiteDEMO” of upcoming Japanese Technical RPG, Grand Kingdom on June 7th for PS4 and PS Vita. The same demo will be available in Europe on June 8th. The demo version of the game will not only include the first two chapters of the game’s story but also the ability to play one “war” per day after completing the second chapter of the demo. The war function of the game is the online/multiplayer setting in the game. The game will have both a digital and physical release. The demo will also include 4 playable classes: Fighter, Hunter, Medic, and Witch. These four classes were previewed in a game play trailer released by NIS America on their YouTube channel earlier this week. The game will also allow players to rollover their save data onto the retail version which is scheduled to be released for PS4 and PS Vita on June 21st for North America and June 17th for Europe.
The game takes place in a world at war allowing the player to take sides with one of four warring nations. The demo will allow the player and their group of mercenaries to make contracts with any of the four nations. The multiplayer version of the game allows players to go against players associated with a different nation.
The game play for Grand Kingdom is turned based and allows the player to control groups of mercenaries in order to gain territory for the nation they chose to ally with. Each mercenary has their own unique abilities; player strategy would be based on the varied skills of the classes the player choose to compose their party. The battles in the game involve setting tactical positions for the player’s units and then using abilities accordingly.
Grand Kingdom has received somewhat favorable reviews, getting a 31/40 from premiere Japanese Video Game magazine Famitsu. The game has been out in Japan since November.
