Today, Google has announced that “some news can’t wait for E3” with Stadia Connect. Later in the week, everyone will get “all the news on Stadia”. The presentation will share launch info, game announcements, and reveal the price of Google Stadia which was revealed earlier this year. The presentation will take place on June 6 at 9 AM PT.
Google Stadia is a streaming service that doesn’t require a console or PC. A game disc or the need to download the game is also not required to play games on Stadia. The reveal showcased the service in action by playing a game while going from a Chromebook to a phone, pc, tablet, and ending on a tv. The demonstration showed off one of the most unique features of Stadia which is how the game picks up where it was left off while switching devices.
The reveal of Stadia also shared the announcement of Google’s own first-party studio, Stadia Games & Entertainment. The studio is being run by Jade Raymond who is a veteran of the video game industry. Stadia Games & Entertainment will make exclusive content for Stadia and work with external studios to bring all of Stadia’s unique features to their games. Doom Eternal was announced as a game that will be coming to Stadia. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey can also be a game coming to Stadia since that was the game that was used during the demonstration. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey was also used during Project Stream last year as Google was testing the technology that is being used in Stadia.
Microsoft has also announced a streaming service called Project xCloud which allows someone to play Xbox games on any device. More information on Project xCloud will most likely be revealed during Microsoft’s E3 Briefing which will showcase 14 Xbox Game Studios games during its 2-hour presentation.
