God of War Ragnarok Rated in South Korea, Suggesting 2022 Release

As we progress to the halfway point of 2022, yes it’s already coming up, it appears that more and more information about PlayStation’s upcoming exclusive God of War Ragnarok is slowly trickling out. There has already been some telltale signs that the title would see a 2022 release, and this most recent tidbit is a major indication of it. The game has recently been rated by the South Korean Rating Board, which is one of the first of the video game rating groups to give their official rating before a release. This also highly suggests that the game is nearing completion, and we could see a release date announced as soon as this Summer.

Keep in mind that a rating board can only present a rating when they’re given a representation of how the full game will look and play when it is released to the public. This is further evidence that we’re in for a release date reveal, especially some upcoming Summer events, like the Summer Game Fest, that will be available for them to showcase this. However, Sony will more than likely wait until they have chance for their own event, the State of Play. Rumors have been floating around the internet for some time that the company will host their event during the Summer time, but as of this writing, neither Sony nor Santa Monica Studios have made any official comment for this. It also doesn’t help that whenever they do announce a State of Play it usually takes place that very week, generally a few days later.

God of War Ragnarok’s release has been building up since late last year, but things really started heating up when the apparent release date was leaked in the PSN database. The leak, which showed September 30, 2022, as the launch date, was contentious at the time, but with more information coming out, that date might be more plausible than previously considered. This is further exemplified by Sony unveiling the accessibility options, which had quite a bit of information for those who wanted to change up some of the game’s features. Either way you look at it, it’s a high probability that we’ll be seeing an official announcement for a release date very soon.
