God Eater 3 is the first in the series that will hit this current generation of consoles. This time around a conflict of mysterious life forms known as the “Oracle cells” have started a campaign to consume all life on the planet. They eventually earned the name “Aragami” and are seemingly immune to typical weapons, which pushes the human race closer to becoming extinct. While there will be old characters from previous games that appear in this next installment, God Eater has had a trend of focusing on sets of new characters for each separate chapter.

A new character has been revealed over the past couple of months by the developers with the girl, Phym. Players meeting with her will change the dynamic of the narrative immensely. Additionally, a new system is being introduced in the gameplay mechanics. The “Burst Arts” is a combat scheme that gives players the choice to use a special attack that will only be available in the Burst Mode. By choosing this, players will be able to decide what kind of fighting style they want to sport and can change their playstyle so that it matches any situation or enemy type.

God Eater 3 will be available for the PlayStation 4 and PC February 8. If you missed our coverage of the game’s official release you can read the story here.
