Motiga’s team-based brawler, Gigantic, has always been somewhat of an outlier when compared to the rest of its ilk. Blizzard’s Overwatch enjoyed (and still enjoys) a prominent place in the online gaming spotlight, while Gearbox’s Battleborn and Epic’s Paragon vie for spots in the realm of shooter-MOBAs. Gigantic, though, tends to follow its own drum. It’s an arena shooter at heart, but players fight over resources that will summon a massive demigod that will compete against that of the opposing team. Combine that with high-contrast visuals and an accessible progression-based system, and you’ve got a game that most players can easily pick up and play.
But most gamers haven’t had a chance to play Gigantic. Motiga hasn’t hosted any open beta periods, instead opting for a secretive closed beta. Moreover, barely any footage was released of the game until the beginning of this year, when those restrictions were lifted.
That all might change as of next week, though. Gigantic’s new publisher, Arc Games (formerly known as Perfect World Entertainment) announced today that Gigantic will be undergoing an open stress test, starting next Thursday, June 30. The stress test will be available through Arc Game’s DRM platform, Arc, for Windows 7/8/10 64 bit, and Xbox Live, for Xbox One and Windows 10.
Anyone can join after either signing up either on Gigantic’s official website, or on Arc’s site itself.
No word has yet been given on how long the stress test will last.
