VR Devs Getting Their Own Conference

As if E3 didn’t give gamers enough of VR it seems that The Virtual Reality Developers Conference will convene for a second time, but with one major difference. It was once an accessory to the 2016 Game Developers Conference, but the VRDC will this year act as a stand-alone event.

During November 2nd-3rd, VR fanatics coming from all walks of the dev cycle will gather in San Francisco to spread and share ideas. There will be booths and a show floor, much like the standard for developers events, and speakers can submit their presentations during this time frame.

A hierarchy of governing board members is comprised of members of Valve, Oculus and Google and will help to define the conference’s program along with content. They will oversee exactly how the show plans to grow and convene in the future.

VRDC will continue to have a massive presence at the much bigger Game Developers Conference (GDC), which is coming in February 2017. Expectations are that these two conferences will complement each other and build off the ideas conveyed int the VRDC to the GDC. It is a wonderful time for developers as they will continue to explore this new technology and bring it to the masses.
