Gibbous: A Cthulhu Adventure is an upcoming point-and-click style adventure game inspired by the real-life region of Transylvania. The developer, Stuck in Attic, is a small indie game studio based in the Transylvanian region. The project is currently still in development, with no expected release period as of yet. However, judging by a recent Twitter post, the team may be preparing to release a new launch trailer for the project.
An evil book, known as the Necronomicon, has become a quite popular topic in the town of Darkham. And that could only spell trouble. When Buzz Kerwan, a local librarian, comes across the tome, he accidentally gives his cat the power to communicate with humans. The two, with the assistance of Detective Don R. Ketype, will need to travel far and wide in an attempt to turn Kitteh back to normal and uncover the secrets and conspiracies behind the cursed book. This game will feature over 60 fully voice-acted characters, with genuine Transylvanian accents and over 12,000 lines of dialogue, as well as beautiful hand-painted scenes inspired by the architecture and nature of Romania. The team has also composed an original soundtrack with more than four hours of music.
Stuck in Attic also offers a demo version of the game, which can be found by visiting the project’s Kickstarter page. This demo is available for download for all PC users. The team also offers a live-stream of the game broadcasted on the Steam page.
Again, the developers have not revealed any information towards an estimated release date for the game. The only indication can be seen from the “Soon!” listed by “Release Date” on the game’s Steam page. Fans can only hope that it means the game is nearing completion, but only time will tell. Gibbous: A Cthulhu Adventure is expected to be playable on the PC (Windows, Mac, and Linux). For more information on the game’s progress, be sure to visit the official website.
