New Wave Toys have announced the newest additions coming to Wave 2 of its RepliCade line, Ghosts ‘n Goblins & Ghouls ‘n Ghosts. There are three options available to purchase. Two individual 1/6 replicas that are tailored with either the Ghosts ‘n Goblins design or the Ghouls ‘n Ghosts design and bundle where you can get both. Preorders are available now. The individual cabinets cost $159.99 and the Collector’s Choice Bundle cost $311.99.
Both Ghosts ‘n Goblins and Ghouls ‘n Ghosts were created by the legendary Tokuro Fujiwara, who’s also responsible for many other classic video games including Pooyan, Rock ‘N Rope, and Commando. The games were developed by Capcom and released back in 1985 and 1988.
Both cabinets can play both games and feature the many staples of a RepliCade arcade machine including the hand crafted cabinet from traditional materials including wood, metal, and plastic, illuminated marquee and cabinet accents, a miniaturized control panel featuring micro-micro switch ball-top joystick, plug ‘n play HDTV and USB controller connectivity, the RepliCade signature amplified mono audio reproduction with volume control and pad lock prop, high-resolution cabinet art reproduction on quality 3M vinyl overlays, diecast metal coin doors with lower cash box storage compartment, high score saving with non-volatile memory, a built-in, high-capacity rechargeable battery, and a premium LCD color screen 4:3 aspect ratio (horizontal orientation).
New to these RepliCade is the new Coin-Op feature where the cabinet can accept New Wave Toys mini coins for credit. “We consider inserting a coin to register a credit as a big step towards achieving our goal of recreating the most authentic arcade accurate experience possible in RepliCade Amusements,” New Wave Toys said. Also new to these RepliCades are the CRT-FX 2.0 with Reflection Reduction Tech. The original CRT-FX lens have been refined with a reduced curvature plus have an anti-reflection surface coating to reduce distortion, glare, and ambient light reflections.
The Ghosts ‘n Goblins RepliCade and the Ghouls ‘n Ghosts X RepliCade are estimated to ship around Halloween later this year.
