GGG Unearths Necropolis League And PoE 2’s Ranger Class

During the Grinding Gear Games Livestream event, the creators of Path of Exile and its sequel unveiled their upcoming plans. PoE: Necropolis and a fresh PoE 2 class were the highlights of the announcement. Throughout March, the Grinding Gear Games team has been teasing the future of their acclaimed game series.

Today, during the livestream, they revealed all the details. The forthcoming expansion is titled Path of Exile: Necropolis, with its trailer premiering during the event.

At the beginning of Necropolis, players can come across Arimor the Undertaker, who entrusts them with the Lantern of Arimor, a powerful family heirloom capable of dispelling the vengeful spirits tormenting Wraeclast.It is crucial for players to understand the game mechanics as they will encounter spirits that enhance enemy mobs, providing greater rewards upon their defeat. With the Lantern in their possession, players embark on a mission to cleanse Wraeclast at Arimor’s request, using the artifact to detect supernatural phenomena in new areas.

Additionally, Path of Exile: Necropolis introduces a new tier of Endgame Difficulty, challenging players in novel ways with Tier 17 maps featuring formidable bosses, enhanced monsters, and richer rewards. Arimor’s Cemetery emerges as a new locale where players can craft potent weaponry and armor from collected drops, enhancing their gear with unique abilities by burying items in open graves.

Moreover, the Scarab system undergoes an overhaul, introducing a plethora of new options to elevate the challenges and rewards of Endgame Maps to unprecedented heights. The game will launch on March 29th on all platforms, including PC, Mac, and consoles.

Grinding Gear Games also revealed exciting updates about Path of Exile 2, envisioned as a next-generation action RPG set years after the events of the original game. Players will once again venture into the ominous realm of Wraeclast to combat the persistent corruption. The sequel boasts a new six-act campaign set across over 100 diverse environments teeming with 600 distinct monsters and featuring 100 formidable bosses. 

Path of Exile 2 has also introduced a new character class called the Ranger. The Ranger is agile and skilled in the use of bow weapons, despite suffering a movement penalty. They have a variety of abilities that specialize in dealing lightning and poison damage. 

A new skill gem system will also be included in the sequel of Path of Exile, with 240 skill gems granting devastating active skills and 200 support gems that modify their behavior. After the six-act campaign concludes, players can access the endgame content for days. There are more than 100 endgame maps, each with a boss fight and modifiers that enable revamped versions of many of the previous Path of Exile‘s leagues. 

With a wealth of content and features to delve into, fans are presented with a plethora of options to explore and enjoy.
