Ever enigmatic, world famous author of the ever popular A Song of Ice and Fire series George R.R. Martin recently updated his blog with a post regarding Elden Ring, congratulating From Software for winning the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association’s Nebula Award for Science Fiction writing for the highly acclaimed open world RPG, an award prescribed to Elden Ring’s director Hidetaka Miyazaki as well as George himself, who contributed heavily to Elden Ring’s world. A sincere congratulations should go out to GRRM as well as the team at From Software for winning such a prestigious award, but that’s not what everyone is talking about in regards to this blog post, as George stirred the pot a bit in regards to a live adaptation of Elden Ring.
Oh, and about those rumors you may have heard about a feature film or television series based on ELDEN RING… I have nothing to say. Not a word, nope, not a thing, I know nothing, you never heard a peep from me, mum mum mum. What rumor?
It’s a fun little tease, and George is probably aware that there have been talks of a live action adaptation of Elden Ring and is just poking fun at it, getting medias like us to jump through his hoop and write articles about it, after all such a huge project likely has NDAs assigned to it that even George R.R. Martin wouldn’t want to break. However, you can never be too certain, and for all we know this little joke at the end of his blog post is a legitimate hint at a future series… or it could be nothing at all.
But you don’t need live action to enjoy the world of Elden Ring, you can experience the game for yourself, and with the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion having recently been released you have plenty of game to walk through between The Lands Between and the Land of Shadow. Elden Ring as well as Shadow of the Erdtree are available on Playstation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, as well as on PC via Steam.
