Interactive entertainment developer and publisher miHoYo will be launching its upcoming new open-world action RPG title, Genshin Impact with a final closed beta on July 2, 2020. Unlike the previous betas, the next one will have cross-play compatibility with PlayStation 4, PC, and mobile, allowing for a larger community to engage with. Genshin Impact is an open-world action RPG title set in the expansive fantasy world of Teyvat.
Players of Genshin Impact take the role of the traveler set off on a quest to find their missing sibling which will lead the player to unravel the mysteries of the world. Genshin Impact offers element-based combat and exploration as its core mechanics for its gameplay loop. Players will be able to explore Mondstadt and Liyue, two of the seven cities that populate Teyvat, during the beta. The surrounding countryside will be open to exploration as that is where most of the enemies will be populated at. This beta promises to offer more quests and enemies, expanded out the world, its mythos, and lore. As well, more secrets and loot is waiting to be found.
Players can join up to three other players to form well-rounded parties to tackle the various quests and bosses in the area. Players are encouraged to mix up their characters and play styles to form well-balanced teams. The combat system is built to reward long combinations of attacks, skills, and complementary elements. By switching characters in combat, players can experiment with elemental combos and master the art of striking down enemies with powerful chain reactions.
The final closed beta will be the first time that Genshin Impact will be available on PlayStation 4, finally having the game tested on all of the platforms it is expected to be released on. miHoYo expects that Genshin Impact will be receiving its official release later this year.
