GameStop CFO To Resign In August 2023

A recent shake-up hits GameStop’s leadership as the US retailer announced the resignation of it’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Diana Saadeh-Jajeh in a short press release yesterday July 27, 2023. In her short time with the retailer, Saadeh-Jajeh was brought in as an interim CFO and interim chief accounting officer (CAO). Later, she became permanent CAO before stepping up as permeant CFO after the retailer’s previous CFO Mike Recupero was fired.

Saadeh-Jajeh is set to resign her role on August 11, 2023. Additionally, GameStop announced that Daniel Moore was appointed as its Principal Accounting Officer (PAO) and interim Principal Financial Officer (PFO), which also will be effective on August 11, 2023.

GameStop was first notified of Saadeh-Jajeh’s resignation on July 21, 2023. According to the retailer’s recent SEC filing, her resignation was “not because of any disagreement with the Company on any matter relating to the Company’s operations, policies or practices, including accounting principles and practices.”

The filing continued, stating that in connection with Saadeh-Jajeh’s resignation, its board appointed Moore as the Company’s PAO and PFO. Previous to his two years at GameStop serving as VP of Corporate Global Controller and VP of Global Tax, Moore held the VP of Tax at Elevate Textiles and Director of International Tax positions at Roper Technologies.

Saadeh-Jajeh’s resignation is the latest shake-up in GameStop’s leadership following the firing of its former CEO and President “without cause” during the retailer’s 2023 first-quarter earnings. It was reported that the retailer suffered a net revenue loss of around $50.5 million USD.
