From the creative minds of Tarsier Studios, the creators behind the highly acclaimed Little Nightmares I and Little Nightmares II, Gamescom dropped the trailer for their next endeavor, a horror game called Reanimal.
Even if you’ve only heard of the Little Nightmare series, you will know immediately that this is from the same creators of that IP, with the great and unique artstyle emphasizing the shadows and shading on the character models to the trademark Little Nightmares camera angles and of course no Tarsier Studio game would be complete without giant and deformed humanoid creatures chasing down your tiny player characters.
Though it looks like humanoids aren’t the only thing chasing us come Reanimal, as the title suggests we’ll also be running scared from a giant multi armed sheep thing, so look forward to that.
The minute long trailer doesn’t reveal too much, but in terms of gameplay one can probably expect for this game to take many cues from previous Little Nightmare entries, consisting mainly of hiding and creeping about before each section climaxes with high octane chase sequences or high tension sneaking sections, except this time you can bring a friend alongside you in a co-op adventure as you and your buddy take control of the brother and sister main characters and try to make your way out of whatever hellscape the two of you are trapped in this time. That’ll definitely break some of the tension when you laugh off how a monster scared the Jesus out of you before eating you.
Tarsier Studios’ Reanimal is available now for preorder, and will be available on Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and on PC through Steam. If you’re a fan of horror games, or a fan of co-op games in general this is definitely something that’s worth keeping an eye on.
